Survival Mode vs Optimal Performance
We know that life gets busy and that sometimes it feels easier (in the short term) to plough through the signs that our battery is draining, but that is short lived. Before long we’re left feeling tired, snappy, eating badly and skipping the things we know are good for us – by that point, we’re well on the road to depletion and burn out.
So, what can you do to keep ‘charged’?
Well, it’s different for everyone but here are some suggestions. The first is to find something that works for you and incorporate small and quick things into your daily routines and rituals. Once you’ve created these positive habits, you’ll find you are happier, healthier and performing better – and who doesn’t want that?
Here are some ideas
- Make time for the people and activities you love.
- Go for a walk first thing in the morning, during your lunch break or after dinner.
- Spend some time in nature.
- Go to bed early.
- Take a coffee/tea break but really take the time to stop and enjoy it.
- Take a relaxing bath.
