Expect nothing, appreciate everything
In and amongst the busyness of life it’s easy to overlook the many things people do for us on a daily basis. But it really doesn’t take much to appreciate others and the contribution they make to your day.
Taking the time to notice and say ‘thank you’ as often as you can to as many people as you can won’t just make others feel valued and appreciated, it will also make you feel happier too.
So, thank them for the little things, like holding a lift door for you but also for the big things too.
Simply saying ‘thank you’ to your spouse, friend, child, colleague etc. can create a virtuous cycle of gratitude, where each person feels more appreciated and happier.
Not only will it make them feel happy but it will make you feel more positive emotions, appreciate good experiences, improve your health and build stronger relationships.
Give it a go and notice the impact it makes.
